Why love
It is not for the sake of anybody that one is loved, but for the sake of God that is loved.
Love does not require an object. You do not need to love anyone in particular. Simply love.
Love is always, always about the God. When we are in unconditional love, we are loving God. When I love you, I am loving the God in you. Namaste. The God in me recognizes and bows down to the God in you.
If my love for you is not for God, it is something other than love. This is not necessarily a bad thing. It simply bears noting. Looked at from the point of view of love, it is my responsibility to love you no matter what you are. Always. Whether or not you’re doing it the way I need you to do it. Whether or not you are being lovable. Whether or not you love me.
It is my responsibility to love. And each time I insist on this, I find myself more able to find God in the world, to find the God within me.
The more I love, the more I learn how to love. The more I learn how to love, the more I know the truth about what I am. The more I know the truth about what I am, the easier it becomes to love.
