Feel Good

Universe works on good feelings. We do what we do because it feels good, because on some level it feels good to do. Now if we are not meditating, what feels “good” and “right” might not be what’s best for us or the people around us. In fact, it may run absolutely counter to what is best for us.

Nature shows us the direction of evolution, the only direction it wants us to move in, by making that direction seem more charming to us than any other direction. If we are not in relation to the Self within, we can’t feel this guidance, but we still have the need to move in the direction of good feeling.

But when we get in relation to the Self, through meditation, then what feels good and right is what is best for nature, best for consciousness as a whole, best for ourselves and for everyone around us.

It is our responsibility to move in the direction of the enjoyment of life. We must practice feeling good, feeling at peace, feeling at ease. This is how we align ourselves with God. This is how we join life, and become able to follow where God has need of us, i.e. where we can be most fully of service.

To think that we must suffer in order to be of service to those around us makes no sense. If someone has fallen into a ditch and can’t climb out, you certainly don’t want to jump down there with them. Please, stay on the roadway and guide them as they climb out; or if you can, reach out a hand. But don’t join them in the ditch.

Today I will insist on enjoying life, regardless of what is going on in my world, or in yours. I will find one thing today I can enjoy: a full breath, a cloud crossing the sun, the sound of wind in the trees or the distant tolling of a bell. I will stop to enjoy this one thing and ask for the guidance of nature to help me expand that moment into another.
