Negative thinking is one of the biggest upsets for the mind. We spend a lot of time thinking about the negative, and in areas where we have no control. The actions of others, the movement of the stock market, the possibility of war, the rise and fall of sales figures, profits, taxes, does he love me or not, what does she think of me, will I ever be thin enough/rich enough/successful enough/lucky enough to; and what does all this mean about me or about the world.
This kind of thinking leads only to suffering and more of an upset mind.
What can be recommends is to cultivate and control the mind.
When you find yourselves plunged in negative thinking, you simply let it go and become present. Stop reacting to things that were said or done yesterday or last week or when you were five years of age. Stop reacting to things that may or may not happen tomorrow. Be here now.
You can start anytime, anywhere, simply by noticing your thoughts and not allowing yourselves to be involved with them. Be in the now
Habits are hard to get rid of. So it isn’t going to be easy. Once you succeed the payoff will be peace of mind, happiness, freedom to enjoy the world, yourselves, your loved ones. Freedom to enjoy life itself.
